Alan Jette, PhD, MPH

Alan Jette, PhD, MPH

Dr. Alan Jette currently directs the Health & Disability Research Institute at the Boston University School of Public Health where he also serves as Professor of Health Policy & Management. He received his MPH and PhD in public health from the University of Michigan. Dr. Jette’s research interests include late-life exercise, evaluation of treatment outcomes, and the measurement, epidemiology, and prevention of disability. He has published over 160 articles on these topics in the rehabilitation, geriatrics, and public health literature. Dr. Jette is Research Director for the New England Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center based at Boston University Medical Center and serves as Associate Director of the Boston Claude Pepper Older Americans Independence Center. He is Director of the Boston Contemporary Outcome Measurement Network funded by the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research.

Rowland Hazard, MD

Rowland Hazard is a board certified internist and spine specialist at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC). He is the Director of the Functional Restoration Program at the DHMC Spine Center and Professor of Orthopaedics and Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School. Dr. Hazard has published widely the area of spinal disorders and holds five US patents related to orthopaedic seating concepts/designs. He has extensive experience in medical device entrepreneurship as former CEO of Ergomedics, Inc. and currently as President of Backcycler, LLC.

Stephen Sprigle, PhD, PT

Stephen Sprigle is a Professor in Applied Physiology, Bioengineering and Industrial Design at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As biomedical engineer and physical therapist, his interests include the biomechanics of wheelchair seating and posture, pressure ulcer prevention, standardized wheelchair cushion and support surface testing and assistive technology design. Dr. Sprigle is currently the Director of the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Wheeled Mobility.

Stanhope

Steven J. Stanhope, PhD

Dr. Stanhope is a Professor in the Departments of Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Biomechanics and Movement Science, and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware. His primary research focus is on rehabilitation biomechanics. Joining UD in October 2007, Dr. Stanhope has served: as the Interim Dean of the College of Health Sciences, on the University’s Research Council, and as the University’s Research Integrity Officer. He is currently Director of Research and Program Coordinator for the $17.4M National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded Delaware INBRE program.

Paolo Bonato

Paolo Bonato, PhD

Paolo Bonato is Director of Motion Analysis Laboratory at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. He is an Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School and is member of the Affiliated Faculty of the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. Dr. Bonato has co-authored over 40 research papers and 130 conference proceedings.

Michael Lewis, MD, MBA

Michael Lewis, M.D., M.B.A. has more than thirty years of significant experience in the practice of medicine and the business of healthcare. He is a Professor of Orthopaedics at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and also is a Senior Lecturer at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Dr. Lewis was the Endowed Professor and Chairman of Orthopaedics and Chief of Staff at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He was the Professor of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at Vanderbilt University and the Medical Director and member of the Governing Board of Vanderbilt University’s Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Lewis has been a principal, advisor and consultant to different aspects of the healthcare industry and also to the financial industry.

Gregg Fairbrothers, MBA

Gregg Fairbrothers is the Founding Director of the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network (DEN) an Adjunct Professor of Business Administration at the Tuck School of Business and Founding Chair of the Dartmouth Regional Technology Center. Prior to returning to Dartmouth in 1999, he served in a variety of management and executive positions in the oil and gas industry for over 22 years, managing and founding exploration and production companies on three continents.

Jake Reder, PhD

Jake Reder is the Founder and CEO of Celdara Medical, a development firm focused on early-stage medical inventions and discoveries. Dr. Reder is also the Founder and Director of the New Ventures Office at Dartmouth Medical School. He previously led and invested in early-stage technology ventures at Cabot Corporation and PolyTechnos Venture-Partners, respectively.
