Education, services, and training to help innovators develop relevant and practical clinical trials that support the validation and translation of ideas to clinical practice. Expertise provided by this Core can dramatically reduce overall project costs through careful assessment and planning.

TECHNOLOGY PROTOTYPING & DEVELOPMENT

Resources and expertise to design, build, and test technology concepts. Core expertise covers a wide range of technology development, including: rapid prototyping, electromechanical system design, materials research and testing, software development, modeling and simulation, and data analysis.

Educational Opportunities

TREAT Educational Resources provide an opportunity for rehabilitation technology innovators to learn about the process of product ideation, evaluation, and execution. Upon submission of a technology concept, an individualized experiential learning curriculum is created to augment an innovators background and expertise. Components of this curriculum include: Technology and Market Assessment (TMA), on-line lecture series that teaches beginning and advanced entrepreneurial concepts, and direct access to expert consultation in all aspects of device commercialization.

Prior to the resource-intensive Engineering phase of product development, our Commercialization Strategy Consulting services utilize a structured approach to identify and plan for unforeseen hurdles to positively affect your product’s market viability. We focus on three strategic areas for your success:

  • The BUSINESS: Understanding your customers, developing a business and marketing plan, and identifying a sales strategy for your best return on investment

The TREAT Entrepreneur Fellowship Program is a 6 month, immersive cooperative educational and professional opportunity for individuals seeking experience in technology translation and commercialization.

Commercialization Advancement Cohort

The Commercialization Advancement Cohort is open to entrepreneurs and small businesses in the rehabilitation and assistive technology space who are seeking education, risk assessment, and strategic planning support. The Cohort consists of eight units of online education focusing on early business development milestones.
